The Crop Functional Genomics Center (CFGC) belongs to the 21st Century Frontier R & D Program of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, and focuses on the functional genomic study for crop improvement. For the next 10 years, the CFGC will run target oriented basic research projects in the fields of plant functional genomics, crop transformation, and plant molecular breeding to make a significant contribution to global food security. About 220 Ph.D. scientists in universities, research institutes, and industries throughout the nation are working in this program.
